Are you losing sleep night after night wondering what the heck (and where the heck) the Salish Sea is?

In 2009 Canada and United States agreed on the name Salish Sea. The new name doesn't replace any of the existing official names for Puget Sound, the Juan de Fuca Strait or the Strait of Georgia near Vancouver. Instead, the original names will be retained, but the name Salish Sea will be used to indicate the entire area.

Our mandate? Every piece of art in the Market must be created "in sight of the Salish Sea." Our family of artists come from as far south as Victoria, and as far north as Campbell River, as well as from our neighbouring islands; Quadra, Cortes, Denman, Hornby, Gabriola, and Salt Spring. And let's not forget the artful work that comes from the Sunshine Coast as well as the lower mainland! It's as local as local can get!!

Whew! Now you can sleep, and then come in for a visit when you're well-rested!
